End of life doula

Judy is an End of Life Doula.

Death is mainly a medical procedure, a Doula assists in helping take back control. An End of Life Doula is a companion who walks beside those who have a diagnosis of a life limiting disease.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Conversations with a trained listener
Assistance with Advance Planning, helping people to express their preferences for their death including where they want to die, whom they want to be with them
Advance decisions to refuse treatment which takes pressure of those supporting the person whether they be family or friends
Helping the person tie up loose ends and guiding them to decide what they still want, and need to do
Supporting the family
Demystifying the last few days of end of life
